Not a year missed in the 20-Year Journey at the World’s Leading Technology Show
The International BU of Raychem RPG is proudly setting several benchmarks and achieving milestones in their 25 years of business existence. One of them is the Hannover Messe (Hannover Fair) in which Raychem RPG has participated 20 times, year-on-year and without a break!
In early 2000, Raychem RPG had reached a saturation point in the International Market due to proprietary issues with Raychem Energy – Germany. The then President, P Rajagopalan posed a question to Ramani Kasi (current President – Raychem RPG), “What can we do next?”
And thus, began the Hannover Journey in the year 2000 with a small space in a corner of a shared stall booked by Plastics Export Promotion Council (PLEXCONCIL) under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Department of Commerce, GOI. The small space allotted to Raychem was singularly manned by Ramani Kasi when he was heading the Operations & Exports Divisions. A daunting experience indeed in an International Exposition!
Ramani Kasi vividly remembers the experience of manning the shared stall space, “It started with a big objective and zero expectations. Raychem RPG’s brand equity helped attract eyeballs and urged visitors to walk in. But two big breaks at the exhibition marked a big upshift. We were given a drawing and asked to quote for the product. We won the order! Moreover, our visibility at the fair turned fruitful when a customer from India called me for a requirement of cable ties, and that is how a new product line was introduced – R-Loc Clamping Solutions. It is today one of our most successful branded products in the International Market.”
The burning passion of the Exports team (as known earlier) to reach larger audiences blazed the trail for a successful journey over the next two decades! With an open & entrepreneurial culture and customer centricity at its core, the International Division has grown multi-fold in the branded and built-to-print segments.

HANNOVER MESSE
The Hannover Messe is one of the world's largest trade fairs. It is held at the Hanover Fairground in Hanover, Lower Saxony, Germany. Typically, there are about 6,500 exhibitors and 250,000 visitors.
The Hannover Messe started in 1947 by an arrangement of the British military government to boost the economic advancement of post-war Germany. The fair now covers all areas of industrial technology and is the largest Technical Sub-Contracting Show in the world to exhibit new technologies in manufacturing and production, along with digitalisation and AI processes. Raychem RPG uses this platform to showcase solutions that align with these new generation, Industry 4.0 products.
The Debut of Raychem RPG at Hannover
From almost 0 exclusive space in the first year, today Raychem RPG boasts of a stall space of 100 meters. It has also made a significant move from Industry Hall No.4 to Branded Products Hall No.13. This itself speaks well of the progress Raychem RPG has made in developing the business and establishing a name to be reckoned with at Hannover.
